Gaim Fic Universe Notes

Doing this as kinda for my own reference too because sometimes even I had troubles recalling all of my headcanons. Plus, since for some of the fics I ended up creating some extra recurring OCs, might as well include their description on this note.

Kureshima Takatora (呉島 貴虎)

If it's not blatantly obvious already, any of Takatora's characteristics in my fics that are not referenced directly from the series will have direct and indirect reference to Date Masamune. Not just because of Kubota Yuki's role in the Basara Butai, but because I saw too much parallels between Masamune and Takatora that allowed me to continue writing him all this time.

Kureshima Masataka Amagi (呉島 政孝 天樹)

Kureshima's family head figure. Aka Director of the Yggdrasil. I came up with the naming for Kureshima Masataka based on Date Masamune, kinda. Like how Masamune carried over the 'Mune' part of his father's name, Terumune; I wanted Takatora to have this bit as well. And I decided to take on the 'Taka' part of the name, and combine it with the 'Masa' from Masamune. Because I am that geek on the Date Masamune reference. Haven't really decided what exact kanji was for Masataka's name tho, but the name did give off that strong feeling that fitted for the role of being Takatora's and Mitsuzane's father's name. So I am sticking to this. Edit: Decided on one specific kanji for his name. It's not the same Taka kanji from Takatora's name but still the same sound.

Also because the variant of Tadazane, Takamitsu, Tadamitsu, Toramitsu doesn't give me the impression of a name of a very powerful figure in the Kureshima brother's lives. Plus Torazane sounded like a chemical compound.

Since Gaiden had given him a canon name, I'll switch to that. Aside from that, I might still reference Terumune at times.

Moriyama Kikuko

Kureshima Amagi's secretary. Initially created her solely to be Amagi's right hand person and then decided to attach a 'mother-figure' role on her once I decided to add the headcanon of Takatora and Mitsuzane's mother dying not long after Mitsuzane was born. Calls Micchi with nickname 'Micchan' when not in Amagi's presence.

Sengoku Basara parallels

Due to the nature of Gaim being a Sengoku period for Kamen Rider series, can't help making this parallel. And I mostly relate any reference of Sengoku era characters based on their characteristics portrayed in Sengoku Basara as well as bits from actual historical facts. Basically the reference are as follows.

Kazuraba Kouta - Tokugawa Ieyasu, Toyotomi Hideyasu, Oda Nobunaga, Date Masamune (mostly only on the armour part)
Kumon Kaito - Oda Nobunaga, Mori Motonari
Kureshima Takatora - Date Masamune
Kureshima Mitsuzane - Date (Masamichi) Kojiro, Ishida Mitsunari
Zack - Chosokabe Motochika, Katakura Kojuro
Sid - Akechi Mitsuhide
Sengoku Ryoma - Matsunaga Hisahide, Oda Nobunaga
Minato Yoko - Nouhime, Saika Magoichi
Hase Ryouji - Sanada Yukimura

Jii

Kureshima's family butler. I created him as a support character for many of my pre-Gaim fics, as the person who mostly looked after the Kureshima brothers in Zawame. Since in series we don't even see a glimpse of any servant in the Kureshima household. And because someone needed to watch over the house. Mostly my image of him was based on Kurahashi Gonza/Hotaru Yukijiro of Garo. Haven't really assign any names on Jii because I wanted him to be regarded as part of the family by the brothers (thus them calling him jii/old man). Still need to make a mention of what happened to him during the Overlord invasion. Had this headcanon of him having used to be Amagi's most trusted employee before becoming a family butler (upon retiring) but so far yet to use this in any fics.
