Anomaly

Title: Anomaly
Series: 仮面ライダーギーツ/Kamen Rider Geats
Pairings: Sakurai Keiwa/Ukiyo Ace,
Characters: Ukiyo Ace, Sakurai Keiwa, Suel
Summary: Honestly he never thought his connection to Keiwa would turn up going deeper than he initially thought.

------------------------------------

"We need to have faith in Tycoon..."

A part of him had hoped that things wouldn't end up leading to this point. A part of him had wondered if things were always meant to head to this point. Since it felt as if there was some unexplained force that kept insisting on placing Keiwa and him on the opposite sides. It was as if there was some other existence beyond the two of them who adamantly refused to allow either of them to walk on the same path lest something 'undesired' would happen.

Even as the two transformed into Bujin Sword and Geats IX respectively, Ace could feel his heart tremble. There would not be any good outcome coming out of this battle, neither he nor Tycoon would benefit from the conclusion of this battle. Yet, neither of them could truly avoid this fight!

The flashes of images kept on appearing inside his mind every time their blades clashed. What would end up happening if he ended up losing and killed by Tycoon? What'll end up happening if he perseveres and succeeds in defeating Tycoon? The visions told him all of the answers even as he continued fighting with Tycoon. And time seemed to move at a frustratingly slow pace...

Suddenly all of the missing pieces had become clear. Of why every time Tycoon was around, something unexpected kept on happening. Starting from that 'first' Round of Treasure Hunting. Usually with so many participants in the first round of the game... it usually took a much longer time for the game round to conclude before they moved on to the second round of the game, which was the Zombie game. Yet, due to some 'emergency' situation... that first round was cut short and players who didn't manage to get any buckles for their Desire Drivers were swiftly retired from the game. So for the first time in a long while, it took less than a few hours for the DGP to reduce 50+ of their current amount of players into mere single digits.

Was that really a simple coincidence though?

What about that time with the Saboten Knight Jyamato? Prior to that time, things like the Jyamar Area expanding during the final round of a game were unheard of. Yet that time... after they supposedly succeeded in kicking the can away from the Saboten Knight Jyamato; thus completing the required winning condition, the game didn't end. And that time was when Tycoon was able to unleash his unexpected ability to be able to overturn the outcome of a game!

The next round of DGP was also not without some kind of 'odd' mishaps. While the first round of that Flag game wasn't anything much out of the ordinary... the problem started afterwards during the Labyrinth game as the Jyamato opponent continued to evolve further to be able to transform into their own version of Kamen Rider! And that time... Tycoon was also present as well.

As Ace continued to slash and parry away Tycoon's attempt to defeat and kill him, these flashes of memories continued to pop up inside his mind as if completing a puzzle he never realised had existed. And he started to see images and pieces of 'memories' that had yet to happen. Of his own 'future' of not being able to escape the 'curse' he had imposed on himself; unable to escape the Desire Grand Prix while continuing the never-ending cycle of death and rebirth. The 'Bad End' that he was trying to prevent from happening, of Suel continuing with his version of DGP that would bring more misery than happiness to their unsuspecting victims.

And all of that 'future' will end up coming to reality... the moment Tycoon—Sakurai Keiwa—dies by his own hand!

Ace let out a gasp as he barely evaded another of Bujin Sword's powerful assaults. It was really unfair for Bujin Sword to still be able to make use of the ability of other raise buckles like Monster and Boost! And really, at this rate, the only way for this battle to really come to an end would be if one of them starts losing their strength to keep on fighting... thus allowing the other to gain the upper hand.

From the beginning, whether or not Ace could come out of this battle unscathed was never the issue. This battle was meant to have either Ace or Keiwa be killed by the other. And regardless of the outcome, the final victor... the final victory would be claimed by Suel...

So Ace made a crucial decision then and there. Rather than continuing the fight to please Jitt and some unknown group of 'Bad End' connoisseurs, Ace decided to stop fighting and let Keiwa's attack hit him fully and throw him aback, thus cancelling his transformation...

As he had thought...

Once he was dead, Suel moved on to deal with the other 'noises' that interfered with their plans to completely demolish this world that he, Keiwa, Michinaga, Neon, Win and Daichi were trying to save. But even then, Suel had been focusing on one person only. Even when everyone had been fully incapacitated—removed of even their abilities to transform again into their respective Kamen Rider selves—Suel didn't stop there and still tried to eliminate that person completely.

Neither Buffa nor Na-go was worth Suel's concern... with or without their Kamen Rider abilities. Yet, Suel still made it a point to personally...
...kill Tycoon.

For some reason killing him was not enough. For some reason, Suel considered it vital for them to also eliminate Sakurai Keiwa...

For some reason... that even he himself did not know why... Suel still needs to make sure that that person dies.

And then Sakurai Keiwa said aloud their wish... of a promise that they still needed to keep.

And finally, he understood.

Ace let out a long sigh before glancing down towards the man who had fallen asleep on his lap. He smiled weakly as Ace gently caressed Keiwa's sleeping face.

It still felt like a wonder to him. To find out that in truth he hadn't come to existence just as a single entity, born out of the 'miracle' that was created from the love shared between his mother and father. But he had originally come into existence as a twin.

Mitsume did not only bore one miraculous child. She had bore a pair of twins... but the other twin had died as soon as it came into existence. And because of the desire of the remaining child to keep chasing after the mother who was forced to abandon them, the other twin also ended up sharing the fate of undergoing various cycles of life and death and reincarnation. Yet unlike Ace, the 'lost' twin did not have the ability to recall the memories of each of their ongoing lives.

And until now... neither of them was ever aware of the other's existence. Neither of them was even able to meet each other in all those years of continuous cycles of death and rebirth; and even if they did meet, they weren't able to recognise each other. Yet for some reason, in this current life... Ace was able to meet his twin at last.

And because of that, both of them were able to grasp their own 'happy ending' for themselves.

Isn't this a very strange fate... Keiwa?

Ace thought back about the moment before he completely remade the world as it was currently. Before he completely erased the three's memories of him, he had tried to say his last goodbyes to them. And right away, Keiwa argued that Ace deserved to be happy as well. Even when Keiwa was still unaware of this connection between the two of them, his twin was still worried about his own happiness.

But Keiwa was mistaken about one thing. Right now, he was happy. If there was any other moment that he could proudly say that it was his happiest, this moment would be it.

I'm happy as long as you're alive... Keiwa.
------------------------------------
Notes: Yeah, I got a sudden wild idea of: What if Ace was born as a twin? And the other twin was Keiwa 😃 And somehow, rather unconsciously Keiwa had the power to somehow affect stuff in DGP just by being inside the game... or more like the presence of BOTH Ace and Keiwa influenced the Jyamato and the DGP system as a whole. I mean, the show never did explain what really caused all the anomalies to happen yet half the time those things happened whenever Keiwa was around. Or like... when Keiwa and Ace happened to be together.

Also as much as it wasn't explicitly implied, this piece was also written as a What if scenario based on the other alternate end that was considered (Keiwa being the final boss) actually did happen but Ace foresaw that and to prevent that future where Keiwa dies came to reality, Ace decided to die instead to make sure that Keiwa lives in the end.
