Few weeks ago... at some hospital in Milan.

Fabio Cassano reached his hand out weakly as he gently caressed Vincenzo's cheek. The old and sickly man let out a soft and sad sounding sigh.

"I'm deeply sorry... my dear Vincenzo. I feel as if I have let my brother Marco down by letting you be part of the family. If only I just let you live a normal life, you wouldn't have to be part of the underworld like me. And when I'm gone from this world, you'll be left alone with no one but yourself to depend on. Yet still, I had to burden you with this one last favour of mine."

Vincenzo shook his head as he leaned closer towards his boss.

"It's not your fault, Papa. Why did you have to say that again? I already knew what I'm getting into when I asked to join the mafia. If you haven't taken me in after Papa Marco and Mama Lucia passed away, I would've found myself lost in this country with no one to depend on. You have raised me like your own son, regardless of the differences in our blood... and I'm forever grateful for that."

"I'll do anything for your sake, Papa."

Fabio smiled weakly. "My son. My poor handsome son. Even if our blood is not truly the same... you will always be my child."

The old man held Vincenzo's hand fondly. "After I'm gone, if you want to leave the family... you should go. Even if it had been your own choice, it always bothered me that you ended up facing a lot of awful situations because of the family. And I know that those things will always haunt you for the rest of your life."

"So I will not take heart if you choose to cut ties with the family after this... and start anew." Fabio ran his old hand over Vincenzo's head. "It's time for you to make your own path of life. Your own thing."

"You don't have to continue living as a monster if you don't want to."

Somehow he could not stop thinking back about the last few conversations he used to have with his Boss, Fabio Cassano, before the old man passed away. The two of them didn't just spend time together discussing what to do about Emilio, they did talk about other things. His papa was mostly worried about him. Even more, than he did his own son Paolo.

He sighed.

Leaving the family. Starting anew. Even when Fabio didn’t give that last 'order', he would have done just that. Because he didn't think that he would be able to serve or place his loyalty to anyone else but Fabio. And as much as he had the capabilities for it, he didn't want to bother with all of the problems that would arise from an internal fight within the family.

But now, he wondered if it was even possible for him to avoid returning to that kind of living anymore.

"Remember what I tell you before? Only monsters can beat monsters."

"I wish a real monster would appear... and deal with all these evil men, whether it's legal or not."

"Mr Vincenzo Cassano. You can't be that monster, right?"

He told himself that he didn't want to become distracted on other matters and focus on the main goals that he wanted to achieve. But what did that choice ended up leading him to? Because he hesitated for a brief moment; because he didn't do anything about it... Lawyer Hong Yu-chan ended up dying unjustly. And just like that, the reputation of the man who only wanted to give voice and bring justice to the weak, ended up being tarnished by some unscrupulous piece of shit of some shady pharmaceutical organisation.

While he didn't really want to cause any kind of disturbances here in Korea—Heck, he already caused enough trouble back in Italy—it didn't sit well on him to not do anything against those Babel and Wusang people. After all, they did almost off-ed him just because he happened to be with Lawyer Hong and they also were still aiming to get what was rightfully belonged to him. While he doubted that anyone from that side would be aware of his secret gold stash, he didn't like the fact that those people still didn't get enough punishment for daring to cross his path. Just when he had tried so hard to not cross on theirs.

"How could they make something like this?"

"I don't care if I go to prison, I want to burn them down! All of the drugs!"

He thought back about Fabio's last request to him before his old boss has passed away. Fabio had continued feeling troubled over his inability to do anything against Emilio who had killed his friend Carlo. There were plenty of negotiations made between them prior to this but Emilio never budged. To the point that Fabio has fallen ill because of it.

While it would've been hard to try to oust Emilio from the union, Fabio at least wanted to take back Carlo's vineyard from Emilio's grasp. Heck, his adopted father didn’t even mind if the vineyard was destroyed. If it meant that Emilio wouldn't be able to gain any benefit from the land they took over at the expense of his old friend's life.
So Fabio asked him to do anything and everything in his power to achieve that very goal. If Emilio still refused to relinquish his hold on Carlo's vineyard.

It was funny to think that Fabio's last wish and Lawyer Hong's last wish were almost identical to each other. And while Fabio never really specified what method he should use to destroy Carlo's vineyard, he did end up setting fire to the whole thing. And Lawyer Hong... had expressed strongly of his wish to have the RDU drugs be burned to the ground.

"What should we do now? Even if we know where all of those drugs were stored right now, there's nothing we could do about it at the moment."

"Yeah, even if we reported it to the police... it's unlikely that they would act on it; let alone believe what we said about the drugs being bad. Like, even I didn't believe it before!"

Vincenzo glanced up towards Cha-young and Mr Nam who were still standing in front of him, seriously contemplating their actions in retaliation against the people who had brought nothing but sadness and grievance to them. Even when their actions so far weren't ethical at all, those two still haven't changed their minds about being part of this small outfit. He smiled.

"I had a plan on what I wanted to do to them..." he started to say as both of them turned their attention towards him. "But it's a bit of a large scale project and I may need to recruit more people to help us with this. It was something Mr Hong once said that he wanted to do to those people."

Mr Nam immediately straightened up and fixed his shirt and glasses before giving him a confident smile. "Leave that to me. I knew a bunch of people who wouldn't think twice about helping out for Mr Hong's sake."

Vincenzo nodded as he started laying out his plan to the two of them. And contrary to his initial thoughts, neither Cha-young nor Mr Nam had any objections concerning the big fireworks party that he has in mind. It amused him that it never crossed their minds whether or not he had done things like this on a daily basis before or that he had pushed this little mafia game of theirs a bit too far for their little 'pretend' group. They still haven't even asked him if he had ever gotten involved with any family before or if he was really just a simple Italian lawyer.

He kinda wished they did, to be honest; or at least looked up about the Cassano family... just so they would at least pronounce that name properly. He sighed again.

He was hoping to be able to leave his old life behind him once and for all. But that life didn't seem to want to let him go just yet. Yet perhaps this was for the best.

He'll let those Babel and Wusang beast have a taste of what this little monster of the Cassano family could do to them. And perhaps they would start to learn better to not overstep their own boundaries next time.
