Yeah I'm a softie against good dramas~~~~

And I thought there's no more Korean Ghost Stories on KBS World... and then lucky I checked and saw that Today got the show on~ Yay~

Today's episode was titled "Reincarnated Princess" about a place at the forest hills where travelers encountered a courtesan mansion where later at the pretence of spending the night with the courtesans, the men ended up killed ruthlessly. One man happened to have witnessed this as he fled back to tthe nearby village, never to return to that place again. On the other hand, at the mansion lived a lady named Suyeong, who had been asked by the Head Courtesan f the mansion to drink a certain tea. Refusing to drink it, her sister-in-law drank it in her place and proceed to please their guests before killing them later.

One day, a man appeared at the nearby village who had come to investigate the disappearance of the men who had went up the forest hills, and overheard a villager exclaiming to the woman serving him tea that those women were the ones killing the men. This traveller was intrigued by it and finds the villager to tell him more as the man refused to show him the way and warned the traveller not to go to that place. Meanwhile, at the courtesan mansion... the head courtesan managed to delay Suyeong's sister-in-law and made Suyeong drank the tea. Since that night the mansion recieved no guests, Suyeong ended up getting into the forest and managed to meet the traveller who had come up to investigate the place. When she had attepted to seduced the man, the man had refused her claiming that he'll remain faithful to his wife until the end of his wife. During the scuffle, his false left arm fell out as Suyeong fled in fright. It turned out that the man had been her husband, Yul.

Suyeong returned to the mansion to the head courtesan's anger because she had not done what was instructed of her. As she ran away, her sister-in-law caught up with her as Suyeong pled to her to escape together. Unfortunately, her sister-in-lay explained... they can't because they were already dead as she told Suyeong to try remembering her pasts. It seemed in the past during the war, many Joseon women had been taken hostage by the enemy at war with the nation. At that time, Suyeong tried to escape the enemy's group of soldiers as she and her husband tried to run away. But sadly, one of the soldiers had slashed her husband's arm off as she was taken away. At Shenyang, Suyeong and her sister-in-law worked at the kitchen at a mansion. When a soldier had sneaked in to assault Suyeong, her sister-in-law saved her as both of them fled the place.

Suyeong's sister-in-law explained to her as she brought her to the place where all of the women had committed suicide, that they had died because they have tried to return home. That time, both of them had been floating along the river until reaching the riverbed to finally found out that they've reached Joseon. They came home, not knowing that Suyeong's half brother had a mistress and the woman had been poisoning her father. Suyeong was told to return to her in-laws house as her sister-in-law stayed at home before finding out the truth about her husband. At her in-laws, her minister father-in-law had been glad of her return... believing her innocence and understanding her hardships while trying to come home. But her mother-in-law was not as she planned to have her son married another woman. Yul at the time had been away, just finally passed his national exam as he was about to come home but delayed due to some official busness. One night, Suyeong had a dream of her sister-in-law, dead; trying to kill her. To her surprise when she woke up, to find blood on her bed as her moher-in-law accused her of bearing another's child and delivering her baby in their house as Suyeong plead for her innocence. Unfortunately, no one believed her as she had beaten and later had her half-brother telling her off for shaming their father's name, hinting for her to kill herself just like her sister-in-law. Realizing that her dream was real, Suyeong later killed herself out of despair.

Finally accepting the fact that she was dead, Suyeong cried herself in despair. Later her sister-in-law return to their home as her husband's new wife tried to give Suyeong's father poison. She had revealed herself at her as the woman fled to he husband in fear. Unbeknownst to
her husband, his new wife had been possessed by his late wife and the man killed her. In the morning, Suyeong's sister-in-law took the appearance of his new wife and fed him poison as officers arrive to take him away for murdering his wife. Yul stumbled into them as his brother-in-law ran pass him, fearing the vengeful spirit of his wife and jumped off the cliff. Yul gathered his men as he called back the villager who had been to the courtesan's mansion as they went to the place. On their way, they found the place where the women's bodies still remained hanging on the trees. Passing through, they found the mansion as they rushed in. Meanwhile, Suyeong's sister-in-law bade her goodbye, having finally exacted her revenge and told Suyeong to escape the place as well. Suyeong refused as she did not want to kill anyone in order to not let her soul be broken apart, even if killing her in-law's family.

Outside the mansion, Yul and his soldiers triad to gather the women when he recognised one woman whom he once saw her dead body floating near the jetty. The woman revealed her true form as Yul started attacking the women with his sword, seein that his men had been outnumbered. The head courtesan was not pleased as Suyeong offered to kill Yul herself. Yul continued his attack until he saw his wife, appalled at the revelation that Suyeong was already dead, never knowing about what happened during her return home. Suyeong pulled out her knife and cut the side of his neck as Yul released his sword and urged her to finish him off. He told her that it's okay for her to do so since he had failed to protect her. Remembering the times they had spent together and that time when she had heard Yul remaining faithful to her when she had tried to seduce him, caused Suyeong to ran away towards the place where her body reside. Her sister-in-law urged her to kill Yul as she did not want to before Yul finally reached her. Saying in grief over his failure to protect her, Yul stabbed himself to Suyeong's alarm as he told her to wait for him in the afterlife. Suyeong cried in grief as Yul's soul finally went out of his body and the three of them disappeared into afterlife as Dawn arrived. That morning, the rest of the officials arrived to the place to recover the bodies to give them a proper burial as Yul and Suyeong's bodies were taken back together.

And later as another traveller passed into the forest and met a beautiful courtesan, the story continues as another victim was taken away...

And I CRIED WATCHING THIS XOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. This was the saddest of the Korean Ghost Stories I've watched so far XOOOOOOOOOOO And I don't know why.... Korean and Japanese ghost stories had been affecting me like this!!~~~~~ T____T

So now I go watch Ultraman Gaia to cheer me back. Really seeing Gamu and Fujimiya always cheered me up. (As did my other fav series) And seeing Agul and Gaia did some arm slap and brofist each other is such a cute thing to see. And yeah... I also find the Kaijuu to be so CUTE. Yeah!

Last week I watched several other episodes of Korean Ghost Stories, purely by chance.

The first one was about the nine-tailed fox where this one family had been cursed by the fox so that one of the women of the house would one day become a nine-tailed fox. And the story revolved around two sisters that had been taken into the house after their parents had died. There had been some mysterious disappearance of the women from the house as the lady had grown insane while muttering about one of the missing daughter-in-laws? of hers. And the younger sister had been seeing what she thought was a ghost as the son of the house told them one day about the family's hidden secret. About the curse of the nine-tailed fox. The lad had been alarmed when the elder sister had her first period, as he warned her to keep it a secret. Not long later, the dorm lady? found out about the elder sister's period. She was immediately arranged to be married off to some man as the lady of the house appeared suddenly thinking of her being her long-lost daughter-in-law and exclaimed that she would die soon. The lady later found dead, hanged inside her room.

Much later, the elder sister had been taken away at night as the men of the house started a ritual, and was about to present her as a sacrifice. The lad that had been close to them had been chosen for that task as he refuse to do it, as the elders urged him to finish her of before she turned into the fox. The younger sister heard the commotion and witnessed the scene as one of the men grabbed the sword that the lad had let go and killed her elder sister. The younger sister cried in alarm as she watched her sister's body being thrown into the well and left to die. The men later was disappointed as the elder sister did not change into the fox and locked the younger sister away. The lad ried to argue to his peers to let her go but was ignored and the others told him to stay with the elders teaching. And reminded him of whose blood he had drank before that had made him strong and what was the reason that the family had been spared from the war. It's because they had always supplied the elders the liver and the blood of the nine-tailed fox all this time. Appalled by the truth, the lad was speechless as the younger sister heard this and becomes the nine-tailed fox. The fox started killing off everyone in anger until finally confronted with the lad's father who had taken them into the house. The lad begged her to spare his father and take him instead as he wouldn't pare to see his father died before him and sweared that these killings will stop. The fox, still caring about the lad, let them go as she finally disappeared from their lives.

And later... in some other vilage years later, a couple were seen offering their elders the liver of the fox and its blood...

Another story was about a ghost of a woman who had her child killed and its body taken apart to be used in shamans magic. The story focused on a mother and her daughter who had been possessed by the spirit of the child who wanted to reunite with its dead mother's ghost. The child had been sick and her mother had been trying all means to keep her healthy after the lost of their son. The situation later become worse as the possession and the ghost looking for her child kept bothering the family. And finally the story ended with the ghost taking the daughter away as the mother also jumped of the cliff to join her daughter, only to have their bodies found later by the father and the villagers at the bottom f the cliff. I didn't understand this story much though since I only watched it as it almost about to end. Unlike the fox story where the events of the first half hour of the story had been mentioned, this one was not. But a part of this story was a bit familiar to one Japanes folk tale about a mother having to make a choice between trying to pull her child back to her from being taken away by a ghost or letting her child go as to not let her child to be hurt anymore due to the child's arms being pulled from each other. At least that part of the story I understood...

And the third story was about a village where all of the blacksmiths at  the village had been gathered to create a sacred sword. A young shaman lady had been sent to oversee the proceed. But somehow, one by one the smiths had died mysteriously each night as an investigator had been sent to investigate. One day a young girl had been detained for being accused of flirting with one of the smiths. And the dead started to increase each night as the smiths continued to make the sacred sword. The investigator thinks that the killings and the supposed ghost attacks had a relation the making of the sacred sword and cornered one smith to find out. Meanwhile the young shaman lady tried to summon and exorcise the ghost that had been haunting the village without much success. It appeared that 24 years ago, there had also been an attempt to create a sacred sword to be presented to the palace. That was to be so that the position of the shamans in the country would be secured in the nation. But one horrible truth was found out, for the sacred sword to be completed... a virgin woman had to be sacrificed, to the investigator's horror. Unfortunately, the woman that had been sacrificed had given birth to a baby earlier thus not a virgin. The villager chose her for she was an outsider and reluctant to sacrifice their own family member, used her instead. Thus the ritual had failed and the sword can only be remade again 24 years later. The sacred sword had once belonged to a defeted enemy of the king's and had broken during their duel. This ritual and remaking of the sword had been intended to remove the curse of the broken sacred sword.

The investigator had confronted the young shaman lady about this and urged to stop this ritual, learning that the sacrifice had been that young lady who happened to be the daughter of the woman who had been sacrificed in the past. The investigator and his assistant had been detained as the head shaman's party had arrived to the village. Meanwhile, the ghost had possessed her daughter as she started killing of the remaining smiths. Symphatised by the ghost and made convinced by the investigator's argument, the young shaman tried to convince the head shaman to forgo the ritual and spared the smith... igniting her wrath. The head shaman had intended to use the smiths to bait the ghost that appeared to be the spirit of the sacrificed woman. That night as the investigator escaped detention, orders had been made to detain the young shaman when it seemed she might ended up being the sacrifice. The young shaman was saved as she and the officers planned to stop the head shaman and save the smiths. The ghost and head shaman confronted each other and battled with the head shaman being defeated. The young shaman and the officers reached the place to stop the ghost from killing the remaining 2 smiths and release her daughter. The ghost finally relented as she allowed herself to be exorcised. The story ended with the young shaman bidding her farewell to the officers and the young lady as she rode away toward the place where her abilities are needed. The young woman bid the shaman farewell and offered her thanks for saving her life.

I found that these stories had a lot of underlining messge to all and wonderful to watch. I don't know why... but these asian ghost stories always had an effect to me~~~ XD
