"Ne... it does seem that your legs were getting stronger!"

Ryo glanced at her in surprise. "You really think so?"

The girl grinned at him as she laughed. "Of course, silly..."

"Ah, good. That means... next time when I visit Aunty Yuko at that institution she was in, I could show her how I had improved! She was a bit worried about me... few days ago when Kei-nii had to send her back. She was worried about whether or not I'd be fine staying by myself again. Keii-nii and Hide-nii have their own work to occupy them after all, and Shige had been staying with his friend all this time since his university was a bit further from our house that it would be a bit inconvenient for him to go around... so I would mostly be on my own at the house, at least until they returned from work."

Erika glanced at him as she remembered what Yamapi had told them about Ryo's stepmother.

"So... how do you think about her, Ryo-kun? About your stepmother?"

"Hmm?" Ryo looked at her, puzzled. "She's... okay. Though... the last three days, she often acted so cautious around me. Half the time she often apologize at me... sometimes when it was not even her fault. I tend to get clumsy myself, sometimes I tried to go up to my old room to get some stuff... you know? More often she'd be ushering me to stay put while she went up to find them for me—because my legs were still not stable enough to get up the stairs, the ones at home were steeper than the ones here—It's kinda embarassing sometimes."
Erika giggled at him as she smiled. It sounded like his stepmother had become normal and really cared about Ryo. And Ryo seemed to be even more cheerful. Though, it would have been better if Ryo could regain parts of his old memories that he seemed to block unconsciously in his mind. She found it a bit sad that he had to resort to that, in order to be able to live normally.

Ryo pulled out an old book from his bag as both of them sat on a bench nearby.

"What's that?" she asked as Ryo shrugged.

"My old diary... I guess," Ryo said as he blushed. "It bugged me that I hadn't been able to remember... some things about the past. Though some of the things I wrote here seemed hard to believe. It sounded like a fairy tale instead."

Erika tried to resist from mentioning his Tsunderella nick as she grinned. Ryo shook his head as he continued musing.

"It seemed there was a lot of things that used to happen to me in the past, it did seemed I had been living by myself for quite a while. I tried asking my older brother about it... and it was true that Hide-nii had once got into an accident and went missing for years! Keii-nii seemed a bit reluctant to talk much about the past though, he only mentioned some of the more cheerful ones."

"Did any of your old writings mentioned anything about you stepmother?"

Ryo glanced at her again as his eyes widened.

"Funny that you asked that, Erika-chan. There was... though not many. Some of it was only a brief mention, it sounded like Yuko-san used to be a violent person. That might explain why she had been acting so cautiously around me. But telling you the truth, I found that hard to believe. Yuko-san had treated me so well few days ago... she even cooked me my favourite dish on her last day at home!"

Erika could not help smiling, seeing how cheerful Ryo had looked.

"So what else have you wrote in there?" she asked as she tried reaching for the book as Ryo pulled that book away from her. Without thinking, their lips brushed each other slightly as both moved away in surprise. Erika bit her lips as she nervously glanced everywhere else but at Ryo. Ryo licked his lips, not sure of what to say to ease the sudden awkwardness between them as he flicked open a few pages from his diary.

"Umm... I used to... compose a few songs. I wrote some of it in this diary..."

"Oh?" Erika turned towards him a bit too fast as she blushed at him again. She leaned a bit nearer towards him as she looked towards one of the pages of his diary. The entry written on that page was indeed a piece of a song lyric, writen by him entitled 'Ordinary'. She smiled as the verses of the song captured her interest.

"Hey... it was not so cheesy as you said before! The lyric was actually nice... and so sweet. It had that kind of hopeful feeling in there... though I can't really explain what,"

"Really, you're not joking... right?" he asked as Erika made a face at him. Both of them started laughing again as suddenly three people tumbled over from the bushes behind them while Ryo and Erika looked at them with amusement.

"What are you guys—were you spying on us?" Ryo asked as Yamapi, Maki and Kame hastily disentangled themselves from each other. Yamapi grinned at him sheepishly.

Ueda Tatsuya kicked the nearby dustbin over as several other students scampered away from his path. It annoyed him. It seemed that Ryo had already recovered from the incident few days ago, heck... he didn't even remembered anything about what happened that evening! It vexed him that the young man thought nothing about him, yet here he was... having wild fantasies about him for several nights already! It's not fair! This mistake should be rectified soon...

And he tried to ignore the fact that he was a bit jealous that Ryo and that girl had kissed, no matter how accidental it had been. The happy look that Ryo had shown to her had also annoyed him.

"Aaah! How annoying!" he cried as he punched the wall beside him...

Both of them were tense as he stood before them, blocking their path towards their class. Though it was more from the girl as she seemed to act protective over Ryo immediately, as soon as she recognised his face. He smirked.

"So you at least remembered me, little girl. Would you like another chance to get to know me? We could also take Ryo-kun along, threesome sounded fun—"

Erika's face flushed red as she spread her arm wide to shield Ryo.

"Don't be stupid. There's no way I'd do  that with you. And I won't let you get your hands on Ryo-kun—"

Ryo pushed her aside as he frowned at him. "Take that back! How rude. That's no way to talk to a girl!"

He smirked.

"I know... but honestly, I would be satisfied with just you... Ryo-kun. I had to admit the brief time we had the day before was not enough for us to get to know each other... but I assure you this time—"

"—what... what are you talking about?" Ryo gasped in horror as Erika looked up towards him before noticing how pale Ryo had become. She immediately held Ryo's hand tightly as she pulled him behind her.

"I won't let you get your hands on Ryo-kun anymore!" she cried despite how her face had grown pale as well. It sickened him how both of them tried so hard to protect each other from him. Like a pair of sweet couple they were...

Both of them backed away from that particular corridor before realising that some of Ueda's other gang members had appeared to block their path from old sides. Damn. Just as the day had grown a bit late... the fact that some of the students and lecturers had already left for him had made these delinquents becoming a bit bolder to try stunts like this at the university.

Ryo and Erika backed away towards a corner as he suddenly stumbled onto the floor.

"Ryo-kun! Are you okay?" Erika cried in alarm as he suddenly clenched the side of his head in pain. She bit her lips worriedly before holding him tightly. She glanced around as the gang appeared to have surrounded them completely.

"Get away from us!" she cried in vain as the gang just laughed at her. As Ueda walked towards them slowly, Erika's body shook with fear before a strange cry caught all of them in surprise.

Two lads suddenly made their way to their rescue as some of the gang members had been kicked and tossed aside. One of the lads started to make weird sounds like a Bruce Lee wannabe as the other spoke.

"Get out from here, all of you! Don't think you can take us down... even if we're less than you guys. I know some judo and my friend here knows kung fu. Don't laugh! Even if all he knew was taken from old movies... my friend here can fight really good! So do you guys want to test it? Amigo?"

The other lad started doing some stance as some of the gang members ran off. Ueda glared at them with distaste as he walked away. The lad turned towards them as Erika helped Ryo to stand up.

"Thanks for helping us, we really appreciated it."

"So this was Ryo-kun... is it?" the lad spoke again as both Erika and Ryo stared at him in surprise. "And you must be Erika-chan. Pleased to meet you."

Erika bowed at them cautiously. "Err, did we know both of you?" she asked hesitantly as both lads suddenly made a pose.

"Blue Ranger reporting!"

"Orange Ranger here!"

"With the power of justice, we'll punish all evil!"

Ryo and Erika gaped at them as both lads grinned at them.

"What did you guys think? Cool, isn't it? Of course this was not related to S☆per Se☆tai or that we've watched too much Sa☆lor Mo☆n. We just loved to amuse ourselves like this. Hi... I'm Yasuda Shota. My friend here is Maruyama Ryuhei... you can just call us Yasu and Maru..."

"Oh!" Erika suddenly gasped. "You guys were—"

"That's right!" Maru finally spoke. "Yocchan told us about you two... and it so happened that our classes were near. Pleased to meet you two!"

"Pleased... to meet you," Ryo said slowly as he bowed at them. Suddenly, his life had become much more... interesting.
