Was watching HyakujyuOh Golion so randomly, because I wanted to. Because I used to watch it on and off when it was aired locally as Voltron. Didn't recall much of the plot before. Safe to say... my ship in the series was KoganexFala... then again with all the 'Kogane~!' shouting Fala did... might just call it canon pairing. haha. Never really remember if I had any pairing when I'm watching Voltron, then again back then I've been shipping lotsa pairing from Ultraman fandom, KR... random old anime, dramas... etc to He-man. Well... nvm~
The Sentai aura is strong in this one... the way the intro went on reminded me of Flashman's opening intro. And cheesy songs FTW~
And then I just had to get a glimpse of Ultraman Max. Never really thought of wanting to watch Max cos I don't really fancy his design. And that was before Mebius pops in... which dragged me back into the fandom and led me to watching Nexus, The Next (The N-Project Ultras), Ultra Galaxy... Seven X... heck I haven't actually followed Cosmos properly early on spare the movies, because the local tvs used to air them during the Eid holidays for some reason. Honestly, before Mebius... the last Ultra series that I've followed was the Tiga, Dyna, Gaia (TDG) set. Alongside Seven and 80, the Aussie one because back then at least two stations were competing over their ratings. And oh~ Zearth!
Another reason I didn't watch because of the false impression the cds at the video shop were giving me. I always had the impression that Max's host was some boring ojisan...
Which actually wasn't! I did read the wiki long and know that there are several characters played by previous Ultra cast... especially Susumu Kurobe-san but I haven't found anyone sharing the raw/sub anywhere so I never really bothered to look. And I knew that the guy who played Inui Sadaharu (Tenimyu 1st cast) was in it... but I didn't know that HE PLAYED THE MAIN CHARACTER? Chit... if I knew I'd watch the series WAY earlier. LOL
Okay... I just started. And despite the formula was similar to the format of the series prior to TDG era, Mebius and onwards... it didn't seem that this one was a continuity--and rightly so--since it's established in Mebius that 80 was the last that appeared on Earth prior to Mebi. And the obvious fact that the DASH crew did not know of any Ultramen or recognise any of the old monsters. Which is fine since Tiga/Dyna, Gaia, Cosmos, Zearth, the US, Aussie Ultras, N-Project Ultras were also set in a different universe and you can see onwards (spare Mebius and Ultra Galaxy/NEO) that they kept making different universe Ultras. Well... Seven X had partial continuation but still a different universe, whut~~
Look like fun... XD
And funny Youtube being biased for some reason. Loads Golion so slow yet for Max... so fast. Whut? Cospiracy for me to watch more Ultraman? XDDD
