During the early years when he was first adopted by Marco Cassano and his wife, he couldn't even communicate with anyone. Well, anyone who wasn't Korean. While Marco and his wife did try to help him get used to living in Italy, it was still a strange new place for him. Which made him wonder why they even want him as part of their family when they can barely understand each other.
Neither Marco nor his wife was really fluent in Korean, and they only ever managed to talk to him using what little Korean they knew as well as some gestures and body language that could convey their thoughts to get through to him. They also did try to teach him the Italian language and got him a tutor to help him learn. It was hard because he was all alone in a community of mostly Italian people.
But at least Marco and his wife were with him, and as time passes he started to warm up to them. And he started to accept them as his new foster parents.
The language barrier between them was still a big obstacle, to be honest. And even with the lessons he received, he occasionally had a hard time understanding what people around him were saying to him.
But then, Marco and his wife starting taking him to watch the opera. That, as well as his newfound appreciation of the opera, opened up a whole new world to him...

Vincenzo looked up from the tablet as he turned to face his boss, Fabio Cassano... who, for quite some time had also become like a father to him.
"Are you sure about this, Papa? Do you really want to give up our family's villa in Milano to exchange it for Carlo's vineyard?"
The elder Cassano just gave him a weak smile. "Do you think Emilio would've agreed if I had offered him another less valuable property of mine? If Emilio was that easily persuaded, it wouldn't have taken us this long to reach an agreement."
Vincenzo nodded. "I understand what you mean, but that villa—would you really let that place go? That villa was Marco's—How could you let go of that and offer it to someone like Emilio—!"
Fabio raised his old hand to touch his adopted son's cheek. "All that will lose its importance once I have passed. Besides, wasn't that place also held one of your worst memories? It should be all right to let go of that villa. For you... and for me." The old man let out a long sigh.
"That said, this was the least I could do for Carlo's surviving family who has been thrown out of their home. If I didn't do this, I wouldn't be able to rest peacefully after my death."
Vincenzo smiled bitterly. "It's likely that Emilio would remain persistent to keep his hands on the land." His Papa went quiet after he's finished talking, so he added another suggestion.
"If Emilio refused the deal again this time... can I destroy the vineyard instead?"
His Papa suddenly let out an amused chuckled at the suggestion.

He didn't even know what he wanted to do, to be honest. But he thought about the anger he felt after waking up in the hospital room, and then later seeing Cha-young crying by herself. And then finding out that Lawyer Hong had died during the supposed 'accident' when it was downright murder disguised as an accident!
He was immediately reminded about what happened to Carlo, and how furious his Papa had been after finding out that on top of his close friend's death, Emilio had forcefully taken over everything that had belonged to his late friend. He remembered also that time when his foster parents had been murdered, and how conflicted Fabio had been between wanting to exact his personal revenge on the robber that has killed his beloved brother and his wife or let the law take its just cause. It was not just a wave of icy cold anger that he was feeling, it was a wave of fiery and explosive anger at the fact that there was an injustice that had been done to him and how helpless he felt at the fact that he couldn't undo the outcomes that had happened.
Just like how his Papa had felt when having to facing the death of his closest friend; as well as brother and sister-in-law, it was the same as what he was currently feeling about the death of Lawyer Hong. And just as Fabio once told him before, not even killing the person responsible for taking away the life of your precious people could ease the pain in your heart. Because even if you killed your enemy, it wouldn't bring back the people who have died.
He understood that lesson too well. That was how he felt after finding out that the robber who killed his foster parents had been caught and tried, yet only receiving only life in prison as punishment.
So what else could he do to ease this anger?
What else, then? Other than making your enemy's life even more suffering and painful than what they've done to him!
He thought about how ridiculous those people from Babel Group have acted. All these murders and deceit, just because they wanted the licence to allow themselves to 'legally' sell their drugs for profit. Because of their greed, they wouldn't bother caring about the lives of innocents that would be sacrificed for their sakes. These lots pissed him so much!
Getting himself into the penthouse belonging to the Babel Group Chairman turned out to be WAY too easy. Then again these kinds of people get so arrogant and wouldn't think that anyone would try to sneak into their lair without some kind of a death wish. But he wasn't like any other normal person...
Vincenzo took out the small bag full of syringes; filled with coloured syrup, as he grabbed a random throw pillow and stabbed the many syringes he brought onto the pillow. With each syringe he stabbed onto the pillow he pictured himself doing it onto the very people who have made his, Lawyer Hong's and many other people's lives such a mess. These people wouldn't even dare put the RDU drugs on themselves but on other people because they knew of how dangerous those drugs were. He wanted those bastards to have a taste of their own medicine!
But of course, since he couldn't exactly do that and he couldn't just kill anyone to send back his message (because having to deal with the authorities was such a bother), the poor pillow should do for now. The syrup should attract ants soon and when the owner of this room came back home, this should be sufficient to give them a scare. He grabbed a blanket to cover his new 'art piece'.
Vincenzo grinned.
Tonight, there should be at least someone other than him who wouldn't be able to sleep well. And this was just the beginning.
xxx
Vincenzo flicked his lighter open again before closing it shut. As he repeated the motion a few more times, he thought back towards the moment before he set Carlo's vineyard on fire.
Back then, when he had set out to meet up with Emilio at the mansion that used to belong to Fabio's old friend, he had ordered his trusted person to set out to the place earlier on to spray gasoline on the whole of Carlo's vineyard. Since Emilio only just recently came into possession of the vineyard, that man wouldn't have been able to tell a difference between a normal cropduster plane doing its usual run of spraying fertilizers on the crop with a cropduster that was filled with gas. And since his visit to Emilio's was unplanned, Emilio wouldn't have been able to suspect anything.
He had half expected that Emilio wouldn't take his threat so seriously, which later on he was proven right. It was a shame, to be honest. Had Emilio just agreed to accept the deal he had offered to him, he wouldn't have had to burn down the vineyard. He would've let the gasoline evaporate on its own after a while, and leave it to Carlo's family to take care of the place.
But as usual, Emilio was so stubborn. And very rude.
He ended up having to lose his lighter to set off the fire. But hey, he had more of those lighters back at his apartment.
Vincenzo glanced to his side at the warehouse as his mind returned to the present. Everyone had already cleared the place already and was waiting for him to finish it all.
"I want to burn them down! All of the drugs!"
"All of the drugs!"
Lawyer Hong's words continued to repeat themselves inside of his mind as he contemplated his decision. Once he drops this lighter, there would be no turning back. He would have started yet another war... and this one, he wouldn't be able to escape its consequences as easily as he did back in Italy.
There would be no turning back!
But as he reached that one thought, Vincenzo flicked the sparkwheel on his lighter. A small flame emerged from the small lighter as he dropped it. He turned to look at the building on his side as his small flame caught the hint of gasoline on the ground. Like hungry little wolves, the flames ate up on the gasoline that has been laid out on the floor and into the building as more and more gasoline had been sprayed all over the building.
Mr Nam immediately hit the accelerator as all of them headed out of the compound. None of the guards even realized what's going on until it was too late.

"Have any of you two ever watched the opera called Turandot?"
He recalled how surprised both Mr Nam and Cha-young as he asked them that. It was almost the same kind of expressions he got from the other tenants of the Geumga Plaza when he suggested that they have a party just a few hours before the supposed time when the people from Ant would try to demolish the plaza.
He told them that he didn't want any of them to sleep soundly, he meant it. Not just the person who instigated the murders of Lawyer Hong and the researchers, not just the head of the Babel Group. He didn't want ANY of the people who abetted to the many crimes the Babel Group had done to be able to sleep peacefully. If possible, he wanted to punish them all!
He wanted those people to know that what they did was wrong and understand that he's waging a war on them.

Well, unlike the tale in Turandot... what they were doing right now wasn't a part of some complicated love story. It's more of a story of revenge. Unlike Prince Calaf who seek to gain victory to win the heart of the princess of Turan after solving the riddles that she had given, what he aimed at achieving at this moment was to win over the evils of Babel Group. And like those people who served the princess; lamenting the fact that they wouldn't be able to sleep until they could figure out Calaf's name or else their heads will roll instead, he wanted those people from Babel Group to lose sleep. Worrying just how far would he get to seek his revenge against them.
And like Prince Calaf, Vincenzo expects to be victorious at the end...!

The flames on the warehouse continued to look beautiful in his eyes, the further they got from the site and the more explosion was set off. It was unlike the usual fireworks that you can see during any festivities, yet there was joy in looking at those explosions from afar. It was as if the land itself was expressing their joy for being able to rid themselves of the horrid killer drugs. He wished Lawyer Hong could see this display... wherever his soul may be now.
It was the same thoughts he had as he watches Carlo's vineyard burn to the ground.
It made him recall the many times his adoptive parents had brought him to see the opera. Fabio had also loved the opera, as much as his brother Marco and his wife had been.
Fabio especially loved the Nessun Dorma aria the best. Fabio loved taking him to watch the Turandot play.
