Title: Mismatched
Series:모범택시/Taxi Driver
Characters: Ahn Goeun, Kim Dogi, Kang Hana, mentions of Choi Kyung-gu, Park Jin-eon
Summary: Honestly she refused to think that Mr Kim and that Prosecutor Kang was ever a good match! They're like water and oil!
---------------------------
"...it's obvious. That explains why Mr Kim Dogi goes out with the taxi every night."
"How so?"
"The rich girlfriend... who missed her boyfriend although they were together just hours ago."
Just her luck. To have to hear Mr Choi and Mr Park gossiping together about Mr Kim like some elderly women at the market, just when she finally got to take her break. What's with those two idiots? Boyfriend and girlfriend? What kind of nonsense was that?

Goeun turned around again as she took another look at the lady who was still arguing with Mr Kim Dogi. The lady was pretty, Goeun had to admit. And the two did look good together somehow, that you can really believe that the two had been dating for a while. She hastily shook her head.
Nah, there's no way Mr Kim would like that kind of woman. Their personalities would really clash with each other!

"What do the routes look like today?"
Goeun sneaked a few more glances towards the lady. Why was she here again? What business did she have with Mr Jang?
And why of all cars did she have to tag along with her and Mr Kim?
"Let's forget about the past and reintroduce ourselves. I'm Prosecutor Kang Hana from the Seoul Northern District Office. Nice to meet you both."
How annoying, thought Goeun as she pulled out for her phone to play her games. Not only was she a pretty lady, but a prosecutor to boot? How frustrating!
Prosecutor Kang tried to talk to Mr Kim again as Mr Kim just brushed her away. Of course. Prosecutor Kang wasn't Mr Kim's type. There's no way he would be interested in someone like Prosecutor Kang.
And... Prosecutor Kang wasn't someone like them after all. Unlike herself, Mr Kim and many other employees and volunteers in Bluebird Foundation, Prosecutor Kang didn't have a painful past behind her to be able to relate with them. Those scars that she had that Mr Kim, Mr Choi, Mr Park also have, were what bound them together like a family.
Without that shared bond, Prosecutor Kang had no chance to even come in between them... much less get Mr Kim to pay attention to her!
It was impossible!
"Thanks for the ride!" chirped Prosecutor Kang again, before she got out of the taxi.
Goeun tried to not look annoyed when she gave the prosecutor lady a brief glance. Why did she still try so hard to be friendly with them? As if they would ever be on good terms with the likes of her!
She let out a soft huff, as Goeun tried to act as if she wasn't bothered by Prosecutor Kang's presence. She turned away, silently praying that she would finally leave. It took a while for her to pick out any sound before hearing the scraping sounds of boots against the gravel. Goeun turned her head again to see Prosecutor Kang finally walking away from their taxi.
Finally! Goeun let out a soft sigh of relief. Now it's just her and Mr Kim in the car.
But then the car hadn't moved as Goeun glanced back to Mr Kim again to see what he was doing. She frowned. Mr Kim Dogi was watching Prosecutor Kang Hana walking away as if that was the most curious thing he ever saw.

"Now that I have Kimchi, I'm thinking of ordering some bossam to eat with it. Do you wanna eat with me?"
Goeun sneaked a glance to see Mr Kim's reaction. While Mr Kim never ever showed interest in her as more than just a little sister to him, she still wanted to at least try to get his attention towards her. After all, she did like him so much. Not just because Mr Kim was a handsome guy, but also because he was so kind and very cool.
Her mind went back to the scene earlier when she caught Mr Kim staring at Prosecutor Kang. Did Mr Kim like Prosecutor Kang Hana? She didn't believe so but she couldn't brush away the memory of him watching Prosecutor Kang like he was actually interested in her.
Was there any chance of her getting Mr Kim to look at her the same way he did for Prosecutor Kang?
"Sure, let's eat together..."
Goeun started to grin. Yes! That's more like it!

"Let's have dinner next time."
"Mr Kim needs to come with me somewhere. I have an appointment that I can't miss."
Goeun continued to mope around as she kept rearranging the things around her workspace at the office. How annoying. She thought she'd be able to spend tonight with Mr Kim (along with Mr Choi and Mr Park, but their presence didn’t really matter much really) after their big job so being told that Mr Kim would be dragged along by Mr Jang elsewhere was such a bummer. Who was it that Mr Jang wanted Mr Kim to meet? Why was it important for Mr Kim to tag along? She really didn't get it!
Her phone suddenly vibrated without warning as Goeun picked it up to answer it. She immediately smiled as the caller ID read as 'Kim Dogi'.
"Yes, Mr Kim—!" she answered cheerfully the moment she accepted the call. But then her heart gave a sudden lurch as a woman's voice had spoken to her instead.
"Ms Ahn?"
Goeun blinked. Why was a woman calling her using Mr Kim's phone? Who was it that Mr Jang wanted Mr Kim to meet? Why was she even using his phone?
"Sorry if I startled you by calling suddenly. This is Prosecutor Kang Hana. We met the other day..."
Prosecutor Kang Hana? So the 'important people' Mr Jang wanted Mr Kim were the prosecutors? Why did that Kang Hana had to be there as well?
"Ah... yes, I remember you..." she slowly.
Why was Kang Hana with Mr Kim of all things?
"I'm sorry to trouble you, but I already tried calling for Mr Jang. He and Deputy Chief Cho may not be sober yet to come over so I thought I'd call the office just in case."
Well, that made sense. So Mr Jang didn't just have dinner with Mr Kim and Prosecutor Kang. It was also with his deputy chief prosecutor friend. THAT was the person Mr Jang wanted Mr Kim to meet.
"What is it?" she asked, trying her best not to sound rude. It was just a coincidence that Ms Kang was there too. It didn't mean anything...
She heard Ms Kang let out a long sigh before continuing to speak.
"The thing is, I'm at the hospital right now. Mr Kim Dogi had fainted suddenly just as we were leaving. So right now I'm with him."
Goeun let out a loud gasp. Mr Kim has fainted? Why would he... when he was just fine earlier?
"I could've stayed a bit longer with him if I can, but something came up at work and I needed to go back to work. As I said, I called Mr Jang already but just in case—!"
Goeun hastily nodded her head. "Ah yes, thank you for calling. Don't worry about it," she said before ending the call.
Goeun hurriedly packed her things so that she could head to the hospital immediately. But then she stopped herself as her mind went back to the earlier conversation.
Prosecutor Kang Hana... and Mr Kim Dogi. It made her bristle at the thought that the two kept meeting each other like this. She hastily shook the thoughts away. Mr Park's words about the two being lovers must've really got into her so much. She shouldn't let it bother her when it's not true.
Ms Kang Hana and Mr Kim Dogi were really not a good match with each other. So she shouldn't let it bother her to see them seeing each other.
