Title: Sleeping Beauty
Series: 빈센조/Vincenzo
Pairing: Vincenzo Cassano/Park Joohyeong & Hong Yu-chan, Hong Cha-young & Hong Yu-chan, Vincenzo Cassano/Park Joohyeong/Hong Cha-young
Characters: Hong Cha-young, Vincenzo Cassano, Park Joohyeong
Summary: He was as pretty as a porcelain doll...
---------------------------------------------------
Oddly, she couldn't help being fascinated by him. Oh... wait. Was that the right word to use? She was curious about him, that's right!
It's not just because he was so handsome. It's not also because she maybe—DID have a crush on him.
Vincenzo... Quassano—Cassano, was it?
She could actually pronounce the name correctly, to be fair. She just refused to SAY it properly. Because she worried that she wouldn't be able to stop thinking about that man... and have the name keep floating inside her head like some earworm!
But seriously, Vincenzo Cassano? It was pretty obvious that the guy was a Korean person through and through, so why the pretence about having an Italian name? Was he that desperate to go around acting like some pure-bred Italian? So pretentious!
Yet, she still couldn't help being curious about the guy. What's so special about this guy... that her father had quickly taken a liking to him, so much that her father had often spent a lot of time with him? What about this guy, that her father had grown to trust... even when they barely knew each other? What were the things... that this guy had talked about with her father before he died?
Did her father... ever talked about her to him when he was still alive?
It shattered her... for not being able to make up with her father before he was lost forever. It broke her because she had hesitated to go meet them earlier... just as that guy told her that she should.
And true to what that guy said, her past criticism towards her father had turned into regrets. And regrets... was the most painful feeling she had right now.
The guilt had started eating into her right now. She started thinking... that if only she had gone to see her father earlier, she might have been able to save her father.
She heard that it took a bit of time after the truck had crashed into the small restaurant... before people had started to notice that the accident had happened, drawing quite a crowd there. If only she had arrived sooner, she could have been able to call for help earlier... and her father might still be alive.
Alas, her father had passed away and Vincenzo had gotten hurt pretty badly.

Turned out Vincenzo's injuries were not that bad. Aside from a minor concussion, a few broken bones and bruises... the guy was lucky enough to have survived such a freak incident. And the doctor told her that Vincenzo should be able to wake up in a week.
Or so they thought.
A week passed and Vincenzo showed no signs of wanting to wake up. She even started wondering if there's something else that the doctors have missed and that the injuries were much worse than what she was told.
She had asked for Vincenzo to be moved to a VIP ward after his condition had stabilised, partially because she didn't want people to see her sobbing while at the guy's bedside. It was already hard with her having to deal with her father's funeral, and seeing her father's past clients coming to Jipuragi office to pay their respect every day didn't help in improving her mood.
Visiting Vincenzo at the hospital; after a while, ended up becoming a new sanctuary to her. If only Vincenzo would wake up soon.
Then maybe, she could finally feel a bit better.

He looked... oddly like a porcelain doll, sleeping on the hospital bed like that. Like a princess in the sleeping beauty tale. Except, in this case, the 'beauty' was this surreally handsome, Korean-Italian man.
She didn't really notice it before. Because of all the life support equipment and everything, she never bothered to look at Vincenzo's sleeping face very closely.
But she did now... and Vincenzo had looked even 'softer' than how she remembered. And very handsome. Like a life-size porcelain doll.

If she hadn't known better she would have thought that this man was a mannequin. Or a very life-like robot! Or something.
With Vincenzo barely even moving in his sleep for these past few days, he might as well had been cursed into an eternal sleep like that princess in the sleeping beauty tale. A silly thought crossed her mind.
If she was to give him a kiss on the lips, could she break this spell and wake this man up? Cha-young cast a wary glance around her even when she already knew that no one else had been in the room with her.
She took a long breath before kneeling over towards Vincenzo's face. Her heart started to beat faster the closer her face got to his.
And then she did it.
Vincenzo's lips were softer than she had imagined. Her first kiss... ended up being given to this mysterious man. She pulled away after a moment.
Nothing happened. Vincenzo still continued sleeping as if nothing had just happened between them. What a drag.
Her cheek had started to burn as realisation started to crept into her mind. She had kissed Vincenzo on the lips, which was something she never really planned to do.
Suddenly feeling self-conscious about herself, Cha-young grabbed her handbag before running out of the room.

Later that night, Vincenzo woke up with a sudden jerk. The memory of the white truck, crashing towards them sent his heart racing wild. It felt as if the truck had just hit him to his death yet...
As his eyesight started to clear, he could see the white ceiling as well as the things around him. He was at a hospital ward... and it didn't look like some average room.
His body felt heavy... and numb, which made sense considering the things that happened to him. How long has he been lying here since then?
He tried to move his arm upwards, and without thinking, he managed to move it so that his fingers grazed his lips ever so lightly. He's not sure why he suddenly felt an urge to touch his own lips but somehow he started having a vague image of being kissed by someone.
What a silly notion, he thought as the idea that he had such a dream while in a coma seemed ridiculous.
Vincenzo turned his head sideways as he thought he could see the button that he could use to summon a nurse over to him. He sighed. His eyelids had grown heavy again so he decided to let people know he's awake much later.
He's still a bit sleepy at the moment.
