Series:모범택시/Taxi Driver
Characters: Ahn Goeun, Kim Dogi, Kang Hana, Choi Kyung-gu, Park Jin-eon
Summary: Honestly she refused to think that Mr Kim and that Prosecutor Kang was ever a good match! They're like water and oil!
---------------------------
"Wait! It IS you..."
Goeun twitched by herself as her ears caught the sound of that familiar voice. And at the same time, she saw Prosecutor Kang's face appear through the camera feed from Mr Kim. Why was Prosecutor Kang with Mr Kim there?
"Why was Prosecutor Kang with Mr Kim now?" exclaimed Mr Choi, stating the obvious as Goeun threw an empty box to his face.
"Shut up!" she exclaimed as the older man started mumbling to himself for being shouted unfairly. Goeun continued focusing her attention on the cam and radio feed of Ms Kang and Mr Kim continued to chat together. Why did Ms Kang looking at Mr Kim wide-eyed and cheerful like that? Why did Ms Kang speak so sweetly to Mr Kim? Why did she have to act so innocent to him? The nerve of that lady!
"Don't tell me you worked here?"
Shit! Will the prosecutors be busting their operation this time before they can even start?
"Tell me, do you really work here?"
She let out a loud groan. "Hey, Mr Kim! Say something to her! Or else she'll get suspicious!"
"Y-yes..."
Goeun slapped her hand on her forehead. Was that the best you could do, Mr Kim?
"Then what about your taxi job?"
"...I quit. The boss had a power issue."
She looked back up towards her computer as she recalled using that particular phrase before. She snorted. Still, it annoyed her to see Ms Kang kept pestering Mr Kim for no reason.
"I see. What a coincidence."
Goeun couldn't help cringing. What's with Kang Hana's tone of voice? And the way her facial expressions changed as she spoke. Did she already realise something?
"Do you have some time?"
"Oh god... she must be on to us!"
Goeun turned her head towards Mr Choi who stuck his head again into the van. She hastily hissed at the man to get him to pipe down. Though it was unlikely that Ms Kang would be able to hear their voices from Mr Kim's transmitter.
"No, this is my first day at work..."
She needs to do something, what should be it—And then she spotted one of the boxes she stacked at the corner of the van and remembered that she kept both of the cellphones belonging to both Mr Choi and Mr Park there, after the last fiasco with their phones last time.
"You're good for lunch, right? It'll be on me..."
Goeun quickly took out Mr Choi's phone and turned it on. She gasped in relief to see that the phone still had some power. She passed the phone to Mr Choi. "Quick! Send a text to Mr Kim's phone! And Mr Kim, tell her that you already have some plans with us!"
Her heart started racing rapidly as she heard Mr Kim parroting her words to Ms Kang. She continued rolling her eyes at Mr Choi and she kept pressuring him to be quick.
"Don't push me so hard! I had very thick fingers... there! Sent!" Mr Choi grinned before showing his phone and the message he sent to Mr Kim's phone.
"...but it's your first day at work, yet you already had lunch planned with your co-workers?"
At the rate of her glaring at her computer right now, Goeun could swear that her eyes gonna start popping out of her head soon. And why even Mr Kim stressing her out as well at this moment? Can't he think clearly in front of Ms Kang without her having to guide him on what to say?
Did she just hear an alarm ring? The camera swerved to the side as she saw Mr Kim's hand taking his phone out from his jacket. And she saw clearly Mr Choi's text from Mr Kim's phone.
"...My old colleagues," Mr Kim's voice rang in her ears as she saw him showing his phone to Ms Kang. "I'll get going for my first day of work."
Goeun let out a sigh of relief. But then she heard again Ms Kang's voice calling out to Mr Kim as the camera feed showed Mr Kim stepping back to look at her.

Ms Kang just...! Goeun bristled again in annoyance. Why that—! The camera moved again as she figured that Mr Kim must have given her some response for the cheering. And that smile on that face... what was she trying to do with Mr Kim? Get off him!
"Oh! Ms Kang looked so sweet from this angle..."
"I know right? There must really be something going on between them."
Goeun frowned before turning around to see both Mr Choi and Mr Park watching her workstation from outside. She quickly shooed them off before turning back towards her workplace. She pouted and stared at the monitor screen dejectedly.
If those two oldies reacted like that at Ms Kang's antics, what must be Mr Kim's feeling when facing Ms Kang so close like that? Why must Ms Kang be so beautiful up close? Why must her cheeks look so round like that?
"We'll need to look into why Prosecutor Kang is here. Pass that message to Mr Jang."
"I'll just tell him that she's just flirting with you," she spat out loud.
"Where did you learn to say such things?"
"I didn't learn it. I just saw it just now." She fumed.
"How dare she?"
