Summary: He had prepared himself for this for a long time. Yet, if there's anything else 'left' for him to have regrets about... It's probably about having to leave his 'Izanami' behind. But at least, that person did not end up in Yomi.
---------------------------------------------------
[I've prepared myself...]
He had prepared himself for this for a long time. From the very moment when he finally was reunited with his mother and accepted the truth of what his existence had meant... and what he should strive to be in the 'future', for him to achieve the wish that neither his mother nor father had been able to achieve.
Yet, if there's anything else 'left' for him to have regrets about... It's probably about having to leave his 'Izanami' behind. But at least, that person did not end up in Yomi.
Or so he thought.
×××
To be fair, it was not as if he had planned to fall in love. It wasn't as if from the very moment he set his eyes on that person, he'd decided to make that person his. It wasn't as if he had planned for the two of them to become so close.

It just happens.
In fact, the relationship between the two hasn't always been smooth sailing... one could even say that it was rocky. What with him always taking advantage of Keiwa's naivety and always tricking him; even to the point of manipulating him and acting as if he had always intended to make a 'mockery' out of his presence! Even though, most of the time... that hadn't been his true feelings about that person.
Sakurai Keiwa had made him believe again that everyone deserved to get a piece of happiness in their lives, that no matter how good or how bad someone is—no one's wish was less important, no one's wish was undeserved. As long as one could risk everything to make their wish come true, anyone deserves to receive their own happiness.
Thus after 2000 years of searching for his mother, his wish to only to reunite with the mother who left him behind all those years ago had evolved into him also wanting to fix the cruelty that the DesiGra tournaments had caused towards the players and the other victims that ended up becoming collateral damage due to the games being held on the world every time. And the moment his mother passed away, he made a vow to make sure that he'd definitely make that wish come true at any cost.
Yet, if there was any obstacle that could prevent him from reaching that goal... it would be his relationship towards the people that had grown to become so dear to him lately. If it had been the old him... severing his relationship with other people in his 'life' would have been an easy thing for him to do.
But lately, he had started to open up his heart and even got close to other people again. Trying to sever his relationship with those people now, probably would not be too easy.
Or maybe not.
Severing his ties with Na-Go and Buffa shouldn't be too difficult to do. Once he's able to help them resolve their own issues and guide them towards striving to make their own wishes come true, there shouldn't be any reason for him to worry about those two.
Na-Go and Buffa... should be able to move on with their lives without him by their side. So once he's able to put an end to the Desire Grand Prix for good, he should be able to sever his relationship with them and make them forget about him.
Yet, there was still one remaining problem.
Sakurai Kei—No, Tycoon. Severing his ties with Tycoon would have been the hardest thing for him to do.
×××
You'd think after living multiple lives and undergoing many different experiences would have prepared him for every single possibility that could happen in this current life of his. You'd think it'd be enough for him to start distancing himself from Kei—Tycoon so that eventually, it would start to get easier for the two of them to part ways later and forget each other.
But how could he so easily unravel a relationship and a strong bond between them within a short time, after the amount of time they've spent together and knowing each other? Even if he had only known Tycoon for a few months—almost a year—it had felt as if they had known each other for far longer than that. And perhaps he had himself to be blamed as well, he'd grown too comfortable being with Tycoon and enjoying their company by their side. Tycoon had also grown to be so attached to him and he himself had grown to like receiving that kind of affection from Tycoon. To which, that very sentiment could weaken his resolve in wanting to make his ultimate wish come true.
He still has to try to distance himself from Tycoon regardless. Even if he could separate himself from his own emotions, it wouldn't mean anything if Tycoon couldn't let go of their feelings for him. For once, he was glad Tycoon still couldn't quite let go of their resentment against his mother. Because then, Tycoon wouldn't want to get close to him anymore... and it should be easier for him to start distancing himself and remove Ukiyo Ace's existence from Tycoon's life.
He'd like to believe that Tycoon could find the strength to stand on their own without having him by their side. He had always known that Tycoon was capable of such strength, so Tycoon should be able to move on with their life without him, eventually.
But then the tragedy with Sakurai Sara had to happen. And as much as he wanted to be there for that person, he also had to try to keep his distance from Tycoon in preparation for the inevitable. Yet that choice turned out to become his undoing. Tycoon ended up falling into darkness and into the clutches of the new Game Master and his manipulative supporter...
×××
And just as he was able to recover the old Tycoon and gave his precious partner a new 'mission' for them to do—helping him to achieve a world where everyone could be happy regardless of their past actions and sins, another obstacle appeared in the form of him gradually on his way into becoming what his mother had turned into in the past.
As much as he still had the powers of creation at his bidding, this wasn't quite how he had wanted things to be. He was currently immortal at the moment, yet was still bound onto a certain kind of 'limitation' that wasn't quite what he wanted. In order for him to create his true ideal world, he would have needed to become a true deity. But, in order for him to become one... he would have needed to become mortal again. If it was possible.
It should be possible for him to do that, shouldn't he? Then again, the only knowledge he has would be from all those old legends that he used to grow up listening about. Tales of how simple mortals ended up being reborn into an immortal after undergoing so many challenges and obstacles...
"Become a soulless god!"
For a brief moment, he almost thought that he would end up failing to fulfil his promise to his mother...
Buffa, Na-Go and PunkJack were turned into inanimate objects, while Tycoon and Nadge-Sparrow were taken away to fight in some rigged fight. And by the way things were going, Jitt and Kekera were attempting to make Tycoon the one to seal his fate and turn him into a soulless god...

But it turned out that Tycoon was the one who saved him this time, helping him to free himself from the shackles that kept him bound. Tycoon had grown so strong now, they really did. And it was a relief. Finally, it should be fine now...
There was no longer a need for him to worry about Tycoon.
"This is the world you lived in, so make sure that you find your own happiness..."
"Shouldn't that... also include you? Ace!"
As he thought, Keiwa... wouldn't be able to accept this situation where the two of them would have to part ways forever. Keiwa reminded him a lot of himself somehow now; of that small child who ended up being left behind by their mother.
Was this what his mother used to feel about him, all those years ago? Having to leave behind that one person that they loved so much, yet hoping that the person would be able to find happiness without having them by their side.
Perhaps now he could truly understand his mother's feelings for him. And now he'll end up doing the same thing to Keiwa...
"You're better off forgetting all about me..."

If looks could kill, he would have died all over again after staring at that sorrowful look Keiwa had given him. And Keiwa wasn't the only one who didn't like what was happening right now. Na-go and Buffa also protested over this sudden separation... but he knew that the three should be able to move on from him after this. And as Na-Go and Buffa will forget about him and continue on with their lives, so will Keiwa too eventually.
Regardless, he showed himself again in front of them. He needed to say his goodbyes properly anyway.
It was regretful, for the two of them to have to part ways from each other like this. Like how it was inevitable for Izanagi to have to part ways with his beloved Izanami forever when she died. But at least in their case, Sakurai Keiwa is still alive. And eventually, Keiwa should be able to move on with their life without him. Since his beloved Keiwa was a very strong person.
Even if this outcome was not something that Keiwa would've wanted, it should be fine. Even if he ended up receiving the wrath of his Izanami for the rest of eternity, That should be fine too.
"It's because I am a Fox..."

Ace reached out his arm towards the rows of ema plaques in front of him before picking the one that caught his eye. A soft smile immediately crept up his lips as he eyed the small plaque and the wish written on it fondly...
For some reason, Ace couldn't help feeling a kind of warm glow growing inside of his chest.
Keiwa still remembered this wish...
And just the thought of it made him happy. Because right now, this is a world where everyone could be happy... as long as they wished for it.
Sounds of footsteps suddenly echoed from behind him as Ace turned around to see who was it that had come to this small, secluded place that barely anyone knew unless they had a wish and the powers surrounding this place would guide them to put up an ema here after a prayer. He gasped as he recognised right away the identity of the visitor. And he couldn't help feeling slightly alarmed to see that person... crying.
Ace immediately froze where he stood, even when he should be aware that the other person would not be able to see him. The man marched up towards him as if they could actually see him before stopping and turning to face the small shrine where the small figure of what used to be the Geats IX buckle was now rested.
"I hate you." The person suddenly spoke. "I really hated you!"
Ace stared at the person in surprise. Could it be... rather than crying in sorrow, the person was actually angry? To the point that his tears started to fall?
What a curious tanuki...
Sakurai Keiwa hastily wiped away his tears before glaring lasers at the poor shrine.
"How dare you make me forget about everything! How dare you make me forget? I swear to you... whoever you are!"
Without warning, Keiwa suddenly turned his face towards Ace... as if they could see him right now. Keiwa immediately fumed.
"I'll swear to you that I'll remember everything back! I'll take back what you made me forget! I'll make you regret ever trying to make me forget about you! Remember that!" said Keiwa again before turning around to leave.
As the man started to stomp down the stairs leading up towards the shrine, Ace started to chuckle to himself.
Guess he deserved to receive that scolding.

Seriously every time some smartass kept saying how Geats had some strong 'Christianity' allusions I wanna hit them with a mallet. If anything, Geats really have strong Greek mythology and Japanese/Shinto mythology allegories. And I really HATE how ppl kept ignoring that.
